In honor of the Papal Visit, Lentzcaping crews set to work on a fall spruce up and planting at PECO’s main office building in center city. The color scheme selected is yellow and white with a splash of purple. Crews tightly planted three tree beds with three hundred yellow and white mums.
After the flowers were planted, crews pruned the existing trees in twenty-one 5’x5′ concrete planters. We then incorporated mums, red kale, ornamental peppers, white violet, primrose, and white and yellow pansies. We also used white and purple angleonia and Hamelin grasses for some height in the containers.
A nice moment was when we bought a friendly younger homeless man lunch and drinks. He is a familiar face and asked to assist us on JFK Blvd. Unfortunately insurance rules could not allow us to employ him, but it was nice for him to ask and visualize the transformation.
